What are Achievement Awards?

Achievement Awards are unique recognitions that users can claim for themselves based on meeting specific criteria. These awards are distinct because they are self-claimable and offer a way to acknowledge personal or professional milestones.

When users have at least one available Achievement Award, they’ll see an “action box” with two tabs: Recognitions and Achievements. The Recognitions tab allows users to recognize each other through peer-to-peer recognitions and awards. The Achievements tab is where users can claim their eligible achievements.

How to Claim an Achievement Award

To claim an Achievement Award, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Achievements Tab: If you are eligible for any Achievement Awards, they will appear in a dropdown list within this tab.

  2. Review Claiming Instructions: Users will see any instructions that help them understand if they qualify for the award. These instructions are separate from the internal award description that only admins can view.

3.  Submit a Claim: Add any optional comments, photos, GIFs, or emojis as you can with other recognitions and awards. Note that users are not prompted to select core values during this process.

How to Create an Achievement Award

To create a new Achievement Award, follow these detailed steps:

  1. Access the Awards Menu:
    • Click on the drop-down menu located at the top right corner.
    • Select Awards from the options.
  2. Start Creating Your Award:
    • On the Awards page, you’ll see a list of your existing awards or a blank page if none are created yet.
    • Click the Create New Award button in the top right corner or edit an existing award.
  3. Configure the Award Settings:
    • Title: Enter a title for your award (e.g., "Monthly Fitness Goal").
    • Type: Select Achievement from the dropdown menu. If this option isn't available, contact your Customer Success Manager to enable it.
    • Description: Add a description in the top text box. This will be visible on the recipient’s profile when they hover over the award name.
    • Badge: Choose a default badge or upload a custom badge. For custom badges, use a square image (118x118 pixels recommended) to ensure proper display in emails and on the platform.
    • Claiming Instructions: Provide instructions to guide users on what they need to do to claim the award.
    • Points: If applicable, specify the number of points associated with the award. Check the box for ‘award without points’ if you prefer.

4.  Finalize and Create:
    • Click the Create button to finalize your new Achievement Award.
    • The Achievements tab will now appear next to the Recognition box on the activity feed.

Enhance your Achievement Award with these optional settings:

  • Claim Frequency: Set a refresh period for how often the award can be claimed (e.g., annually for a recurring task).
  • Approval Requirements: Specify if the award requires approval before being granted. This can include single or multi-level approvals.
  • Group Restrictions: Limit the award to specific groups of users. Members of these groups will be the only ones eligible to claim it.
  • Visibility in Activity Feed: Choose whether the achievement should appear in the activity feed or only on the user’s profile.
