User Provisioning using Paylocity

Welcome to the Bucketlist Rewards x Paylocity integration guide! This integration enables you to seamlessly sync employee data from Paylocity into Bucketlist to power automated recognition moments, milestone awards, and real-time engagement insights.

Step-by-Step Integration Instructions

  1. Step 1: Follow these instructions via Merge to start setting up your connection with Paylocity and Bucketlist. For specific details for the sync with Bucketlist, refer to the details below. Make sure to return to the link above to complete all required steps. 
    1. Fill out a Paylocity Web Services Access Request Form
      1. Vendor Name: Bucketlist Rewards
      2. Vendor Contact and Email: Your Bucketlist Onboarding manager name and email
      3. Under "Briefly describe use case," mention "we are using Merge to connect."
      4. You can ignore the "Webhook Push Notifications" section
      5. You do not need Pay statements, Deductions, and Earnings. Fill out the form as follows

        Note: Get Employee is a required permission to authenticate the linking flow, but only endpoints needed for the integration should be selected. You don’t need Pay Statements, Deductions, or Earnings, so remove those from the permissions.
    2. Send your completed form to webservices@paylocity.com
      1. The email body should contain the following:
      2. Subject: Requesting Client ID and Client Secret


        Hi Paylocity team, can we get access to a Client ID and Client Secret for API access? (https://www.paylocity.com/our-products/integrations/api-library/) We have attached the form specifying relevant permissions.
      3. Note: There may be a cost associated with the API setup & gathering of credentials from Paylocity. This is a Paylocity fee, not a Bucketlist fee. Bucketlist does not have access to the fee rates or ability to waive any cost associated with this connection.
  2. Step 2: Request a Magic Link from your Bucketlist Onboarding Manager
    1. Your Bucketlist rep will be able to initiate the integration by sending you a magic link through a site called Merge
    2. You must be an Admin in your Paylocity account in order to complete these steps
  3. Follow the steps in the Magic Link to setup the integration from your end
    1. Refer back to these instructions to fill in the steps in the magic link and complete the setup
    2. You will need the Client ID & Secret that you requested in the email above before you can get started 
    3. You will also need your Company ID. If your Company ID includes CS, only enter the number that follows it. In all other cases, enter the ID exactly as it appears, because the values are case-sensitive.
  4. Once all of these instructions are completed let your Bucketlist Onboarding Manager know. 

    • Your Bucketlist rep will now complete the integration steps on their end. This may include confirming what Groups/Teams you want to be included in the Bucketlist site. Please note that not all Groups/Teams can be brought in but we will confirm what the system allows us to sync.
