Recognition Budget: Points per Direct Reports

This article goes over the points per first report feature for points to give budgeting. 

The points to give per direct reports feature allows you to automatically scale recognition budgets based on manager team size so every employee has an equal opportunity to be recognized. 

For Platform Administrators:

This article is intended for Bucketlist platform administrators. If you are an employee or end-user, some features or settings described here may not be available to you.

Features: 

  • Automatically calculates manager budgets using direct report counts from HRIS
  • Configure points per direct report to ensure fair recognition ditribution
  • Eliminates flat budgets that disadvantage managers with larger teams
  • Can set a flat rate per direct report or create tiered budget ranges
  • Built-in fallback ensures managers without direct reports still receive a budget

Setting up points per direct reports

The Bucketlist team can turn this feature on for you to be able to set up from the front-end, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager or support@bucketlistrewards.com. 

In the platform, admins would go to the platform Settings page, and update the role's points to give as below:

  1. The amount of points distributed to the user who has no direct reports - this is the fallback for those users without any direct reports, this is their points to give budget for the time interval. 
  2. The amount of points distributed to the user per direct report- this is the amount of points to give each user will receive per direct report they have for the time interval. 

NOTE: Points are only distributed at the beginning of the distribution interval. Any changes to an user's direct report count mid-way will not reflect until the start of the next period.

Example

If we want to provide 10 points per direct report:

  • Manager A has 5 direct reports- so they would receive 50 points to give

  • Manager B has 20 direct report- so they would receive 200 points to give
