How Do Nomination Awards work?
This article goes over the Nomination awards in the platform and how to use this feature.
Nomination awards provide a structured way to recognize outstanding contributions across your organization — whether it’s Employee of the Quarter, Culture Champion, Innovation Award, or any recognition unique to your team.
Instead of managing nominations through Google or Microsoft Forms and manually tracking responses, you can capture everything directly within your Bucketlist Rewards program. Submissions, approvals, reporting, and reward distribution all live in one place — keeping the process streamlined and aligned with your overall recognition strategy.

For Platform Administrators:
This part is intended for Bucketlist platform administrators. If you are an employee or end-user, some features or settings described here may not be available to you.

Go to the Awards section of the platform

Click "Create New Award". A modal will pop-up to create the award.

Add the following fields:
- Award Title (in platform languages)
- Award Type: Nominated Award - this will change the options available below
- Open for Nominations- this allows you to select if this award should be open to having nominations come through for it at this time (eg. if it is a quarterly award, you may only want this on near the end of a quarter).
- Include Review Step- *this may not appear depending on your plan*- this allows for a review by those who can have review permissions- they can then add in extra comments for the nomination prior to approval
- If you click this on it will show option to include ratings with reviews- allowing you to add a rating scale to nomination questions that reviewers would add.

- Limit the Number of Nominations from each user - this allows you to limit the nominations from a user. This would be the total of nominations submitted by this user. For example, a user could submit 1 award with 3 nominees, or 3 awards with 1 nominee each, for a total of 3
- Internal Description- this is a description of this award
- Badge Category- to choose a badge for the award, or you can choose your own badge image
- Optional: Default Award Message- allows you to include an award message that would be added to all awards provided out
- Optional: points- how many points would be provided with this award
- Optional: attach experiences to this award- you can add marketplace items to an award.
- Nomination Questions- Add in questions to be asked for this nomination award- your default company-wide ones will appear here already, but feel free to edit them.
- If you have the review step with ratings on- you will see a rating maximum to set per question. You can choose to have only 1 question or multiple with the rating, if you wish to not include a rating on a question put the max as 0.

- Restriction Settings- allows you to restrict who can be a nominee, nominator, reviewer, or approver of this award
- To add people to be able to complete these pieces, you can click the checkbox and then select them via typing their name and selecting them.
- You can also filter users by their group to narrow the list to choose from (this can be helpful if you have a large company with many similarly named users)

- Click Create and your award will be created. If it is open for nominations, then users can submit a nomination for this award.
How to Submit a Nomination
- Go to the "Nominations" section in the left-most menu of the platform.
*Note: if you do not see this, it could be due to permissions or due to no awards being open to nominations* - Under "Add a Nomination" you will be able to select the award you are nominating for

- Choose an award, and click next.
- You will then be able to fill in:
- Who you want to nominate (or the nominee)
- Fill in any nomination question answers
- Click Submit to send in the nomination for approval!

How to View the Nominations submitted
Note: this is only available to those who have "reviewer" or "approver" access
- Go to the "Nominations" section in the left-most menu of the platform.
- Click into "Nomination List" - here you can see all nominations submitted. Key Features are:
- The list is filterable by nomination award name in the top left of the list you can select an award to filter the list by.

- The list is sortable- you can sort by each column to make it easier
- Nominations for the same award/nominee are gathered together- so you can see who all nominated the same nominee for that award in one row (this is summary mode)

- Can download a CSV of the nominated awards- nomination data, custom questions, and nomination history (not including reviews/ratings/approvals/declines)

- The list is filterable by nomination award name in the top left of the list you can select an award to filter the list by.
- Click into "Details" on any nominated award row to pull up the details of that nomination

- This shows all nominations for the same nominees for same award at once
- Here you can see the award being nominated for, who is being nominated beneath that, and if you want you can include the ability to see their groups here.

- In the top right you see the # of nominations, #reviews, and average rating (if reviews and ratings are turned on)

- Below you see an ability to approve/deny if you have permissions
- Below this, you will see who nominated the nominee, and any questions responses that you can click into the dropdown to see more about.

- If you have reviews on, this is at the bottom of the page for who reviewed this nomination.

How to Review a Nomination
Note: you may not have this feature turned on. If you are interested in this feature, please discuss with your Customer Success Manager.
Note: this is only available to those who have "reviewer" permissions
- Go to the "Nominations" section in the left-most menu of the platform.
- Click into "Nomination List" - here you can see all nominations submitted.
- Click into the nominated award you are here to review.
- Click Details
- Here, you will see the review step available to you. You can add your review on how suitable the nominee is for this award, and ratings per question.

- Click Submit your Review when done.
How to Approve/Deny a Nomination
Note: this is only available to those who have "approver" permissions
- Go to the "Nominations" section in the left-most menu of the platform.
- Click into "Nomination List" - here you can see all nominations submitted.
- Click into the nominated award you are here to approve/deny.
- Click Details
- Here you will see the buttons to Approve/deny, along with the details of the nomination.
- You can click on the Decline button to decline a nomination, and a popup will display to fill out a reason for the decline. You can also choose to notify nominator(s) of this award.

- You can click on the Approve button to approve, and a popup will display to fill out.
- Fill in the Award Giver user
- Include an award message for the recognition

- Choose whether you wish to notify nominator(s) for this award
- You can also choose to automatically decline remaining nominations for this award once approving.
